Update on TR service

• TR search for Gene Family – User has 3 entry points for search

• Blast interface (no service yet)

• Gene ID interface – limited to sequence IDs from 1KP project data used for this release

• User enters Gene ID and is returned a gene family – note: if there are GO terms associated with any genes in this family, they will display as well.

• User selects gene family – gene tree representation. Putting in ability to download image

• User views species tree – species tree is the same for any gene family

• User selects Fat Tree – image can be expanded

• Soon to be added:

  • Ability to save images in My Data in DE

  • Ability to download images to local environment

  • Better sizing of images for Fat Tree representation

  • Display of GO terms for gene family

  • BLASTp Interface working

• Species Tree - the branches are not aligned. The team will look at rendering a different image.

• Gene Tree – is there a way to build a legend to show the meaning of the colors?

• Todd suggested showing the Fat Tree first then breaking down into smaller bits. It was also suggested to change the Fat Tree name to a version of Reconciled/Reconciliation

• Add the option of rendering in black and white or color.

• TV group will discuss with Sheldon what the priorities are for the next step.

• Goal is limited release by early November 2010.
