Ontologies Project Tracking

Start Date:

Weekly Update Page:

Overview:

  • Scope:
    • Develop required ontology resources for the communication of tree reconciliation analysis results.
    • Initial ontology is in OBO format, this is the format required for import into the controlled vocabulary tables in the TR database
    • Later ontology development in OWL format, this is the format required for use with NEXML, and allows for integration of the ontology in semantic web infrastructure.
  • Deliverables:
    • Tree Reconciliation Ontology (TRON)
An OWL formatted tree_reconciliation ontology. This will be referred to internally as TRON and will have the TRON namespace, but will be called tree reconciliation ontology to avoid unnecessary confusion with prior art.
    • Example use of TRON ontology in NEXML representation of reconciled trees
    • TRON Manuscript
Manuscript announcing the available and describing the use of the tree reconciliation ontology.
    • iPlant TRON Ontology Service
