Background
Internal nodes of phylogenetic trees are rarely labeled and there is no standard way to automatically assign IDs, which makes their identification extremely hard. The Ancestral State Reconstruction by Maximum Parsimony tool requires an internal node as input. A visual tool that display a phylogenetic tree and allows the user to select an internal node either by directly clicking on it or by identifying two terminal taxa of which the node is the most recent common ancestor.
Project Description
Use iPlant's Phyloviewer and the Viewer/Editor integration framework to generate such interface.
