couple test cases, first one at Buffalo
methods for managing phylogentic info
allows for taking whole genome info from diff plants in account
want to make a tool in discovery environment with Sankoff's code
will serve as a test case for how to get outside people involved in iPToL projects
still figuring out needs analysis, documentation, etc.
still trying to determine a timeline for contribution of a module to iPToL
it's not clear to outside people how they can contribute code, etc to iPToL discovery environment
still an open question as to how this will be dealt with
Sheldon suggested that we look at what components will be integrated
need to finalize what the requirements are for the TR discovery environment before integrating projects like iPAT
need to conduct more needs analysis and determine what is needed and how

Nicole provided update on project "Seedling"
finished iteration 0
environment for development is in place
12 user stories are in place
building an infrastructure that allows for pulling tree data into discovery environment and extensible for all WG
figured out how to parse and store Nexus files
looking to get a number of diff file types
overall goal was to pull in tree and trait data
Sapling is next project and will build on this project
next iteration will give ability to view the files and get data back out
two week iteration cycle
Core software wiki space has details on this project
have not begun tackling the TR user stories, will begin immediately
ACTION: engagement team and TR will work on defining the initial deliverable and how to generate better/more useful user stories
