Sol Open Topography Walk Through
To test out the Opal2 Web Service I did a simple walk through from the OpenTopography steps:
Go to OpenTopography.org
Log into the MyOpenTopo tab on the top left if you have a Username set up:
Navigate using the Data tab to the area you want to sample.
Select a bounding box and the types of outputs you want to generate (e.g. TauDEM hydrologically corrected DEMs)
After the job is done processing you'll see the Job Report:
You'll also get an email with something like this:
The data are available at: http://opentopo.sdsc.edu/result?id=rt1457020525469
And Metadata about your job are available at: http://opentopo.sdsc.edu/result?id=rt1457020525469&metadata=1
These data will remain available for about 7 days - after which you can re-process the job at any time using the metadata tag.
To test the Opal2 service I copied the URL to the SRTM results (not the TauDEM - this file is split into two tiffs)
http://ot-data1.sdsc.edu/appRasterSelectService1457023481613-1049895410/rasters_srtm.tar.gzNext, I insert the URL into the Opal2 service provided box for Input DEM URL:
The Web browser is designed to unpack the *.tar.gz file and begin running the Sol program.
After you submit the process you should see something like this:
